The Wardens and Vestry of St. Andrew's, College Park request your prayers and presence at the celebration of new ministry and installation of The Reverend Timothy Johnson as the Eighth Rector of St. Andrew's College Park by the Rt. Reverend Mariann Edgar Budde, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, on Saturday 20th January at 10.00am. A reception will follow.

The Wardens and Vestry of St. Andrew’s are pleased to announce that The Reverend Timothy Johnson has accepted the call to serve as the eighth Rector of St. Andrew’s Church. His first Sunday with us will be September 17.

The Rev. Timothy Johnson comes to St. Andrew’s from Charles County, Maryland, where he currently serves as the rector of two parishes – Christ Church (La Plata) and Christ Church (Wayside). Prior to accepting a call to the Christ Churches, he served as chaplain and religion teacher at Washington Episcopal School in Bethesda, Maryland. The Rev. Kristen Tossell Pitts recently earned her Master of Divinity at Virginia Theological Seminary and is currently a transitional deacon from the Diocese of Upper South Carolina. She grew up in a rural area near Greenville, South Carolina and completed her undergraduate studies at Furman University. Prior to seminary, she taught high school English and was very active in leadership at her sponsoring parish. More recently, she has worked for the Center for the Ministry of Teaching, where she focused on curriculum and related formation resources. Her other ministry interests include pastoral care, social justice, and the calling of all baptized persons to ministry.

St. Andrew's has called The Reverend Glenna Huber as Interim Rector starting on August 1st.

Rev. Glenna Huber has most recently served as Vicar at the Holy Nativity Episcopal Church in Baltimore MD. Currently she is serving as a consultant for urban congregations on the efficacy of community organizing in congregational development. She also serves as an educator, lecturer and community leader.

For the past 15 years, Rev. Huber has served in a number of pastoral roles in Baltimore and Atlanta, including ecumenical and educational positions. Her positions have provided her with the opportunity to offer pastoral care and counsel to teachers, seniors and parents, and students... Read More
