There's a place for you at St. Andrew's
Probably lots more than one! These ministries are vitally important to St. Andrew's.
Our shared worship on Sunday mornings with nursery and Christian education is the bedrock for all of us.
On Wednesdays, our noon Eucharist is a welcoming small group, who then enjoy a potluck lunch together. We meet in the Rectors' Lounge (enter through doors off of the Princeton Avenue Parking Lot).
If you'd like to be part of a worship team, consider joining our choir or Altar Guild, serving as an acolyte or lay reader, or meeting your fellow parishioners as an usher or greeter.
Christian Formation and Family Ministry
Learn more about the Episcopal Church, the Bible and explore your own faith through the Adult Forum (9:30AM Sundays during the school year) and special evening offerings.
We have programs for children and youth, including Sunday School. There's also a Nursery during the 10:30 service. Bring the whole family to our Wednesday potluck dinners at 6 PM, followed by Cherub Choir rehearsal.
For more information about our children's and youth formation program, please contact The Rev. Sarah Lamming at email@example.com.
Help prepare and serve lunch to our homeless and low-income neighbors on the first Sunday of every month, and put household goods that you no longer need to good use by donating them to the Thrift Corner. St. Andrew's hosts a week of Warm Nights every winter in February. Volunteers are needed for preparing and serving meals, for set up, staying overnight, and providing companionship for our guests and their children. Information and sign up will be available in late January.
At St. Andrew's, we place a high value on taking care of one another and caring for our community. To do this, we need volunteers to sign up for Coffee Hour, and to assist with parish-wide events. If you are a party-planner, or just enjoy organizing fun events for a congregation that treasures its "multigenerational" fellowship, we have many opportunities for you to get involved! Events include Mardi Gras, our Easter Egg hunt, our Festive Coffee Hour on Easter Sunday, our parish picnic (usually in April or May), our parish retreat (in October), and St. Andrew's Day (which we celebrate the Sunday before Thanksgiving). We've also started a monthly "Birthday Party" for people celebrating their birthdays that month. If you are interested in helping with any of these activities, let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org.
See first-hand how the church operates by attending a vestry meeting. Or speak to any vestry member about how you can use your own special interests and skills in joyful service to God and your neighbors.
Gifts from parishioners are the primary means by which the church receives the financial resources to carry out this mission. Donations can take a variety of forms depending on their purpose and the church's needs.
